Students investigated dry ice this week to go along with the “spookiness” of Halloween. Learning about solids, liquids and gases and the new word of the day: sublimation.
Would you like a burger grilled by a Greek god? Do you need a potion to stop time or maybe you need the perfect party planner? Inspired by the gods and goddesses of Greek mythology, 5th grade students wrote and performed commercials, designed props, and created prototypes for a wide array of creative products and businesses. Fourth grade paleontology students use a fossil guide as a resource in their quest to sleuth out what might be lurking in the scattered bones found on their recent dig. After collecting bones, each student pieced them together using clues of shape and size. The iPad App Charades gives students an opportunity to use team work and creative thinking during rainy day indoor recess. Thursday students launch into research by looking at topic such as why the bees are disappearing and the plants used by Native Americans as medicine. |
