Our Back to School Night is fast approaching on September 11th. Please remember that Back to School Night is for parents only and there will be no activities for students. Hope to see you all there!
av·a·tar ˈavəˌtär/: an icon or figure representing a particular person in computer games, Internet forums, or your EL Classroom Figuring out how to represent yourself in the form of a 3D trapazoid was the task at hand for all students this week. We are looking forward to sharing the final products at our Back to School Night September 11. Our apologies to our Monday and Tuesday students. Somehow with the excitement of the first day of class, photographic evidence of your activities was not documented! Airplanes that hit targets, flew through tunnels, and glided the longest distance earned prize money for the companies that manufactured them. Success of their companies depended upon understanding the laws of supply and demand, cooperation, and managing time and money. The EL Air Fari Olympics were a huge success for all companies involved. Christian Heaton, uncle of one of our Monday students and a producer for The Amazing Race, stopped by our Monday class to answer questions, tell a few behind the scenes secrets and give students even more reason to want to travel the world. Paper airplane companies bartered, borrowed or bought each item required to build their planes before they began the final manufacturing process for our EL Airfare. |
