Fifth grade engineers carefully measure and calculate designs for toothpick bridges. Can one piece of lumber really cost $10,000?
Monday students are using the LEGO WeDo kits to learn basic programming and mechanics, while practicing their communication, collaboration and team-building skills. Sixth grade students began publishing their first Podcasts using our new iPad Podcast Studio. The studio was created using funds from the Shawnee Mission Education Foundation grant received last spring.

Please check back next week as I try to redeem myself with extra fantastic photos! -Marci In the final quarter of the school year the students are actively engaged in problem based learning and creative thinking. They are designing and building toothpick bridges, working with technology through iMovie, robotics, podcasting, and animation. TuesdayWednesdayThursdayEverything from "Adorable but Awful Animals" to "Ancient Greek Inventions Still Used Today" were projects on display at the Fourth Grade Share Fair. Sharing individual projects with parents and guests gave students an opportunity to "show off" the work they completed. Research projects and academic competitions were presented in digital formats. February 27th will mark the new date for our 4th grade students Share Fair.
Monday students posed as famous explorers and environmentalist as they shared the plight of their selected endangered animal for parents and guests. When Pandora's box was opened, 5th grade mythology students created their interpenetration of the story and the ensuing events.
